Jiří Ptáček was born on 13th October 1977 in Prague. At the age of 17, he was accepted to AVU (The Academy of Art and Design) in Prague at the studio of B. Dlouhý.
Studies:
Since 2003 Jiří Ptáček has been developing a reflection of a trouble-free modern world in collections of paintings, using coloured acrylics, which correspond to the current role of publicity and media manipulation, bringing about a general desire in individuals to escape to a virtual world free of real problems.
There is a successful response to this everyday media manipulation, evoked by economic interests, especially at a subconscious level, rendering people subordinate to dominance and longing for a life of happiness and perfection. This is based mainly on the idea of the world being reduced to visual values which subjugate the disoriented man in the modern world with their offensive pandering to every whim and drowning out his traditional value system with their incessant informational stimuli.
